Former Ghana defender Dan Quaye appears to be impressed with the acquisition of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko during the transfer window.

Both Kotoko and Hearts endured a torrid campaign last-term, finishing 4th and 12th positions respectively.

The two most glamourous clubs in the country have bolstered their squad with young and experienced players as they seek to make impact in the upcoming season.

In an interview, Dan Quaye, who featured for Hearts of Oak during his playing days expressed satisfaction with the recruitment of his former club and Kotoko at large.

According to him, the purchases made by both clubs shows their willingness of annexing the Ghana Premier League this season.

“If Hearts of Oak and Kotoko are doing well, it generates excitement in the country. Both teams have recruited very well, which shows they mean business about winning the league. When was the last they reached the money zone of the Champions League? Previously, we could reach that stage."

Hearts of Oak will kick off the season with an away fixture against Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Friday whiles Kotoko takes on Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
