Former Ghana star Sadick Adams aims to mentor players amid career regrets

Former Ghana youth international Sadick Adams has expressed his desire to assist emerging players in avoiding the contractual pitfalls that he experienced throughout his career.

Adams found himself caught up in a detrimental transfer deal involving Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel.

Following a series of persistent injuries, the 33-year-old made the difficult decision to retire from professional football prematurely last week.

However, he remains determined to support young players and guide them away from the mistakes he made in his own career.

Reflecting on his own struggles, Adams highlighted the lack of agency representation during his playing days.

He said: “that’s what I’m also trying to get into because I said it in the beginning that during our time it was difficult to have an agency or any manager who can make certain decisions.

“But I think this time there are a lot agencies and managers who are helping the young ones to make decisions because if I had that kind of support and management, I would not have gone and sign two contacts which brought issues to my career.

“So I’m also trying to go into that to try to educate the upcoming ones to also not make that mistakes.”
