Former Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye expresses confidence despite poor form

Former Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye is confident about the club’s success this season despite their unimpressive start to the Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Phobians has been in dismal form so far this season, leading to the sacking of Dutch trainer Martinus Koopman after just 10 games in charge.

The Ghanaian giants have managed just two wins, losing two and drawing six games out of the 10 games played so far. They are currently 11th on the league table with just 12 points.

Speaking to Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Dan Quaye bemoaned lack of experienced players in the team, which is why they are struggling in the ongoing campaign.

Despite the club’s poor form, the former Ghana international is defiant about the club’s chances in the ongoing campaign.

“Hearts of Oak need experienced players to excel. To wear Hearts of Oak jersey is not something easy just like any other traditional club in the country, however, when you are privilege to play for such clubs you need to give your all”

“The reality is that, situations at Heart of Oak and Kotoko are different but I’m sure that with time things will change for Hearts of Oak” he said.

Hearts of Oak will face Accra Lions in the matchday 11 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
