Former Premier League Winner Set for Move to China to Join the Revolutionary Super League

Three-timePremier League winner, Carlos Tevez, looks set to become the latest player to enjoy the riches of the Chinese Super League, according to the Chinese Media(as reported by theMetro).


Having made a name for himself with both Manchester clubs, City and United,Tevez left European football at the end of the 2014/ 2015 season after winning the Serie A title with Juventus.


The Argentinian currently plies his trade with boyhood club Boca Juniors and has two years remaining on his current deal with the club.

Whilst it was widely expected that hewould spend the rest of his career playing in his home country, the 32-year-old could be set to shelve those plans and reap the financial rewards of playing in China.


Potential buyers,Shanghai Shenhua, have stated that they have made a "breakthrough" in negotiations with the forward and are willing to offer the former Premier Leaguestar a staggering £33.4m per season.

Speaking to Shenhua news, the club's president, Wu Xiaohui, said:"We have done a lot of work [on trying to sign Tevez] and it's safe to say that there has been a definite breakthrough in the negotiations.


"But for a variety of reasons we have not sealed the deal.Their club have problems that are still yet to be resolved and I will spare you the details.


"We will continue to put greater effort into this and strive to give our supporters a pleasant surprise as soon as possible."

Shanghai Shenhua, who are managed by former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet,have already signed a number of former Premier League stars including the likes of Demba Ba and Obafemi Martins.


Should the deal go through, Tevez will be the latest big name player to join the Super League, as Chinese football continues to take the world by storm init's bid to become a powerhouse in the beautiful game.
