Francis Amuzu praises Anderlecht striker Islam Slimani

Winger Francis Amuzu is pleased with the way Algerian striker Islam Slimani is leading Anderlecht's attack in the Belgian Pro League.

Francis Amuzu is progressively regaining his last season's performance level, when he enjoyed his most fruitful campaign under Vincent Kompany.

Since Slimani's arrival, Amuzu has also advanced significantly. The 23-year-old Amuzu has so far tallied 3 goals and 10 assists in 39 games. Amuzu has been playing well alongside Slimani; he has four assists in five games (the Ludogorets own goal was a result of Amuzu's performance). Slimani was responsible for the goal attempts, and against the Bulgarian club, Slimani's deviation also led to an own goal.

"He is an added value for us. Islam is a killer in the penalty area. It's easier for a winger like me, because he's always there. Before games, he tells me to look where he is and give him the ball. I did it against STVV, Ludogorets and Standard. He is really a top striker," Amuzu told La Dernière Heure.

Amuzu played 46 games for Kompany last year, with 10 goals and 5 assists. He contributed to 15 goals, and the former U21 international for Belgium seems poised to do better this year.
