Published on: 13 October 2019

The Regional clash between Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics in the 2019 Homowo Cup has ended in a stalemate at the Accra Sports Stadium earlier today.

The two clubs based in the Greater Accra Region faced off today as part of activities lineup to mark the celebration of the 2019 Homowo Cup.

In a very difficult encounter, neither side could equalize and had to settle for a goalless draw at the end of 90 minutes.

The Phobians looked the better side in the first half and threatened on several occasions but just could not find the back of the net. Striker Kofi Kordzi and winger Kojo Obeng Jnr showed glimpses of the quality in the Hearts of Oak set up but all to no avail.

Olympics had their moments in the second half but were also mostly denied by Richmond Ayi who was in post for the Rainbow lads.

The derby eventually ended 0-0 and the tie will now be replayed next week Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the same venue.
