Galatasaray Reportedly Set to Offer £15m for Manchester United Outcast Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay's big money move to Manchester United has not worked out anywhere near as well as the Dutch winger would have hoped, with the 22-year-old having found himself out of favour with first Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho.

The former PSV man is not even guaranteed a place on United's bench these days, and the Mirrorreport that Turkish giants Galatasaray are set to offer Depay a route out of Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Galatasaray bossJan Olde Riekerink is reportedly set to sanction a £15m move for the Dutchman, in the hope that he can restore some confidence in a player who is clearly talented but has very much lost his way at Old Trafford.

As United bosses would not be keen to take such ahit on a player they signed less than 18 months ago, a loan deal until the end of the season might be worth Jose Mourinho's consideration, with the hope of restoring Depay's form and confidence with regular match-time.

However, it would appear that Mourinho isn't a huge fan of the Dutchman, as he places a lot of emphasis on their defensive work, and the former Chelsea manager is unlikely to be willing to be hamstrung by the mistakes of his predecessor.

Even in a United side still devoid of pace and invention, Depay has only been granted very limited opportunities and it would appear that he does not form a major part in Mourinho's long-term plans.

Manchester United have won just one Premier Leaguegame in their last seven, after their 0-0 draw with Burnley on Saturday, in which they had 37 shots on goal but failed to score.

The Red Devilsare now eight points behind the leading pack, the same distance they are ahead of relegation-fodder Hull City - which makes alarming reading for United's increasingly frustrated fans.
