GFA confirms postponement of Ashgold and Asante Kotoko match week 29 clash

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed the postponement of Ashanti Gold's match week 29 encounter against Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.

According to  the GFA, the match which was initially scheduled for Thursday May 19, 2022 has been called off due to an intelligence report and advice from the Ghana Police Service.

Asante Kotoko remain top of the Ghana Premier League table and now has a game in hand while Ashanti Gold SC, who have been demoted to the Division Two League for match manipulation are 11th on the log.

Below is a statement from the GFA:

"The Ghana Football Association wishes to announce that the Ghana Premier League Match Day 29 fixture between AshantiGold SC and Asante Kotoko has been postponed indefinitely.

"The decision follows an intelligence report and advice from the Ghana Police Service. The Miners were scheduled to play their regional rivals at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

"The Ghana Football Association would announce a new date in due course. Stakeholders are to take note and act accordingly."
