Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Member, Dr. Toni Aubynn has heaped praise on the current Black Galaxies team claiming they are disciplined.

Coach Annor Walker's side defeated Nigeria 5-4 on penalties in the 2023 African Nations Championship second leg tie to qualify for the tournament.

Goals from Zulkifilu Muhammed and Chijioke Akuneto ensured Salisu Yusuf’s men cancelled out the first leg deficit, but that was not enough to send them to Algeria.

"These current crop of players of the Ghana Black Galaxies are very good and disciplined, and we would like to keep the core of the team," the Black Galaxies Committee Chairman told Angel TV.

The win gives Ghana a slot in next years CHAN, a feat that has alluded the nation since 2014 while Nigeria failed to qualify for the competition for the second consecutive time having missed out on Cameroon 2018.
