GFA v Ashgold case: We will present a strong case in court – Ghana FA veep Mark Addo assures

The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo has assured that the association is ready to present a very strong case in court on Friday.

The Ghana FA will be in Court on Friday, October 14, for the case filed against it by Ashanti Gold SC to be heard.

The country’s football governing body has been dragged to court by the Obuasi-based club over disappointment after the club was demoted from the Ghana Premier League to compete in the Division One League.

Ahead of the court hearing tomorrow, Mark Addo says the FA is calm and ready to present a strong case.

“If they [Ashantigold] feel they went to the Appeals process and were still found guilty on the basis of that, the next level was for them to have gone to CAS. Even the players that were banned went to CAS and were given a reprieve.”

“If they choose not to go through the process, and go to court, which is fine.  Every dog will have his day in court. The FA will strongly present their case and I am very hopeful that we will be vindicated,” Mark Addo told Citi Sports in an interview.

The injunction case filed by Ashanti Gold SC to force the Ghana FA to halt the Premier League season will be heard at the Accra High Court’s Human Rights Division tomorrow.
