Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus has set sights on finishing 2022/23 season strongly at Ajax after his failed move to English Premier League side Everton in the summer transfer window.

Ajax turned down an offer from Frank Lampard's side to sign Kudus who joined for the Eredivisie club for €9 million in July 2020, on a five-year contract.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for his side this term, scoring 10 goals as a false number nine and providing two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions so far.

"Ehm, of course things changed after that. Especially that I started playing more," he told Algemeen Dagblad in an interview.

"We all want to play and if you don't play, you have to look further to be able to do that.

"Because I am a player who likes to challenge myself. This is my third season here. We will see what the future brings. The important thing is that I just keep performing for the team and the rest will follow naturally later."
