The Ghanaian is having a medical at Huddersfield ahead of his planned move from Barnsley.

The 25-year-old full-back is set to complete the short trip up from Oakwell after a breakthrough in talks between the Yorkshire clubs.

And Yiadom will be Huddersfield’s  11th signing in a difficult transfer window following promotion to the Premier League.

Steve Mounie, Laurent Depoitre, Mathias Jorgensen, Jonas Lossl, Aaron Mooy, Tom Ince, Kasey Palmer, Danny Williams, Scott Malone and Elias Kachunga have already arrived.

The right back will compete for a place after a stunning rise from non-league football and League Two with Barnet before catching the eye of clubs in the second tier.

He moved to Barnsley a year ago but only had a year left on his contract, sparking interest from clubs in taking him on a cut-price deal this window.

Andy Yiadom made his Ghana debut at the African Cup of Nations following an invitation by Avram Grant. The Ghanaian can play of both flanks.
