Former Ghana assistant coach, Gerard Nus is set to return to his native Spain after he was paid outstanding bonuses owed him from the Black Stars 2017 AFCON campaign.

The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports cleared the $10,000 debt owed the Spanish trainer earlier this week.

Gerard Nus was a member of Avram Grant's back room staff for major tournaments during his reign as coach of the Black Stars.

He refused to leave Ghana in protest of his outstanding allowances and bonuses, staging a sit-in at the Swiss Rest Hotel (formerly Alisa Hotel) in Accra.

Nus, a former coach at Liverpool under Rafael Benitez, joined Ghana for the 2017 Afcon, his second stint following a similar role at the 2015 edition in Equatorial Guinea.
