Prior to Hearts of Oak's action in midweek against Bibiani Gold Stars, the club wrote to the Ghana FA requesting for the game to be suspended due to an illness that had seen a number of players being hospitalised.

With the FA not listening to the club, it ordered that the match go ahead as planned.

With the Ghana Health Service investigating the illness in Hearts of Oak’s camp, it has uncovered that there was an influenza outbreak.
