Ghana midfielder David Atanga makes Red Bull Salzburg squad for Europa league opener against Victoria Guimaraes

Former Black Satellites midfielder David Atanga has been named in the Red Bull Salzburg team for the UEFA Europa League opener against Victoria Guimaraes.

The youngster made the trip to Portugal, after an inspiring performance for Liefring in the Austrian League.

The Ghanaian returned from an injury lay off to produce a spectacular performance which earned him place in the team for the Europa League game.

Atanga has been with the feeder side of Red Bull Salzburg, Liefring for some time now but his impressive displays last season secured him promotion to the senior side.

He is expected to be handed a starting role tonight.

Meanwhile, Sporting Clube de Guimaraes will be having Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso in their side.

Walkaso joined from Lorient in the summer after a difficult period in France.
