Ghana Premier League: We shouldn’t have given away nine points after six games - Prosper Ogum

Asante Kotoko's head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed disappointment over his team's performance in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, stating that it is unacceptable for them to have relinquished half of their points, amounting to nine, after six games.

The Porcupine Warriors currently hold the seventh position on the league table, having garnered 9 points out of an available 18, a mere point shy of the league leaders.

Ogum, who has previously tasted success in the Ghana Premier League, expressed his concerns and emphasized a desire for a stronger points tally at this stage of the season.

"I think as far as point accumulation is concerned, myself and the players, we are all not happy because if you look at the way we have played, we have given half of the points away which should not happen," Ogum said at a press conference.

"If you look at the games we have played and the creativity we have shown in front of goal, we shouldn’t be having nine points after six games."

Despite the point loss, Asante Kotoko's record is relatively strong, with only one defeat in the six league matches played so far. They have secured victories in two encounters and drawn three.

The Porcupine Warriors are now preparing to face Bechem United at their home ground in the upcoming match week seven of the league.
