Ghana to open 2021 AFCON campaign in tough clash against Morocco

Ghana will play its first match of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in a tough clash against Morocco.

The upcoming AFCON is scheduled to be staged in Cameroon and will kick off on January 9, 2022.

At the end of the official draw for the continental tournament last Tuesday, Ghana has been pitted in Group C where the Black Stars will do battle with the likes of Comoros, Gabon, and Morocco.

Footballghana.com can confirm that Coach CK Akonnor and his charges will face off with the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the first game of the tournament.

That big clash will be played at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé on Monday, January 10.

Ghana will need to pick a positive results to take into the final two matches of the group stages.

In the other Group C game of the first round debutants Comoros will also take on Gabon.
