Footballghana.com can report that local players will be included in the Ghana squad that will face off with Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier next month.

The Black Stars are pitted in Group C of the qualifiers with the Sudanese alongside South Africa, as well as Sao Tome and Principe.

After returning from Europe following a month-long tour, Ghana head coach CK Akonnor is expected to have a press conference next week before subsequently unveiling his squad.

Ahead of the scheduled press conference on Tuesday, GFA’S Communication Director Henry Asante Twum has confirmed that there will be close to five players from the local league gaining call-ups into the Black Stars squad.

“Not less than 3 and not more than 5 local players will make into the Black Stars squad for the two-legged AFCON qualifiers against Sudan”, he said.

The AFCON qualifier between Ghana and Sudan will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 27, 2020.
