Ghana vs Guinea Bissau: Gabonese Referee Eric Oyogo Castanets to officiate fixture

Published on: 02 July 2019

Experienced Gabonese center referee Eric Oyogo Castanets has been appointed by the organizing committee of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to handle the crucial match between the Black Stars and the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau.

The two group F teams face off at the Suez Sports Stadium in Suez on Monday afternoon following a slow start to the tournament that has seen them sitting at the bottom of the standings.

Today’s match is expected to be edgy and full of individual compacts with both teams determined to amass all three points to enhance their chances of progressing from the group stage into the knockout phase.

Ahead of the tie, referee Eric Oyogo Castanets has been given the mandate to act as the adjudicator to uphold the rules of the game.

He was the referee when Ghana defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-0 during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
