Ghana vs Nigeria: Victor Osimhen anticipates another tough physical battle ahead of crucial World Cup clash

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen is expecting yet another tough physical contest against the Black Stars of Ghana this evening.

The tension is building up for the massive showdown at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja which hold the destiny over 200 million Nigerian fans.

The Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in the first leg and are hoping to secure qualification on home turf.

The Black Stars landed in Abuja on Monday in preparation for the second part of the play-off against Nigeria and has set sights on securing qualification at away.

 

 

Ahead of the clash, the Napoli marksman says it will be another tough physical battle against Ghana but backed the Super Eagles to fight through it and qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

“It will be another tough physical battle (against Ghana),” said Osimhen, who was closely marked by Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku in the first game.

“But we’re looking forward to it because we want to play at the World Cup.

“We respect Ghana, they have some quality players.

“But we also have quality individual players who can win games for us and also players who could come from the bench to do so as well”

“We count of the fans to be the 12th man for us to win and be at the World Cup.”

A scoring draw will see Ghana qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup mundial in Qatar in November this year whiles Nigeria needs a win to make it at the expense of Ghana.

Nigeria are in search of their 7th World Cup qualification whereas Ghana chase their 4th qualification.
