Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil assists a goal for Genk in team’s defeat to Oostende

Ghana international, Joseph Paintsil and his KRC Genk outfit have crashed out of the Belgian Cup.

The forward featured for his team in the Round 16 clash against Oostende on Wednesday, December 6.

In the tough game that ensued between the two teams, Oostende scored the opening goal in the 65th minute thanks to a strike from Thomas Basila.

Four minutes later, KRC Genk also equalised to restore parity to the game. Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil assisted Anouar Ait El Hadj to find the back of the net for the away team.

With the game level at full-time, the contest had to proceed to extra time.

Unfortunately, for KRC Genk, the team did not turn up for the challenge.

Oostende fought hard and scored twice thanks to goals from Robbie D’Haese and Luis Hartwig.

Due to the defeat, Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil and his KRC Genk side are out of this season’s Belgian Cup.
