Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong spotted in Manchester, fuels Red Devils transfer rumours

Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong has sparked Manchester United transfer rumours after being spotted in the city.

Frimpong has become a subject of interest for several top clubs following his swashbuckling performance for Bayer Leverkusen in the just-ended season.

The enterprising right-back established himself as a key cog to the club, scoring 9 goals and providing 11 assists as Leverkusen reached the semifinals of the Europa League.

Footballghana.com has learnt the English Premier League giants will not prioritize the signing of the enterprising right-back this summer since there are more pressing concerns.

But the Ducth-born Ghanaian has fueled Manchester United transfer rumours after being spotted at a popular Italian restaurant (San Carlo) in Manchester with friends and agents Dirk Hebel and Jeffrey Lembert.

According to reports, Frimpong is not in Manchester for negotiations with the Red Devils, despite the club being linked to his signature for several months.

Frimpong was crowned as the Player of the Season at Bayer Leverkusen.

The Dutch-born Ghanaian pulled 30.7% of the votes cast to win the prestigious award. Frimpong beat off competition from Florian Wirtz and Robert Andrich for the top award.
