Ghanaian forward Benjamin Bernard Boateng scores again in Al Ittihad’s win over Al Mokawloon Al Arab in Egypt

Ghanaian attacker Benjamin Bernard Boateng was on target again when his outfit Al Ittihad Alexandra defeated Al Mokawloon Al Arab in the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.

The former Elmina Sharks attacker started and lasted the entire duration as his side cruised to a 3-2 win over their opponent in the week 5 clash played at the Borg Al Arab Stadium in Alexandra.

Al Ittihad were handed an early scare after Ahmed Alaa Eldin gave the visitors the lead after just three minutes into the game.

However, the host responded five minutes later after Agostinho Cristovao Mabululu fired home to level the pegging for his outfit after being set up by Karim El Deeb.

Boateng found the back of the net in the 21st minute mark to put Al Ittihad in front after connecting from El Deeb pass.

Six minutes later, the visitors hit the back of the net to restore parity after defender Mahmoud Shabana scored an own goal. The first half of the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Al Ittihad sealed the victory in the dying embers of the match when Islam Abou-Salima scored the winning goal in the 87th minute with Mabululu providing the assist.

The former Elmina Sharks FC player has now netted two goals in four appearances in the Egyptian top league this season.

Meanwhile, former Bechem United midfielder Moro Salifu played full throttle for Al Ittihad as they secured victory over their opponent.
