Ghana's Andy Yiadom shines as Reading suffer FA Cup elimination

Ghana and Reading defender Andy Yiadom put up a sensational performance as Reading suffered FA Cup elimination to a rejuvenated Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Yiadom lasted the entire duration of the game and was cautioned as the Royals lost 2-0 to the Red Devils at the Theatre of Dreams.

Juan Mata converted from the spot in the 22nd minute before Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku added the second on the stroke of halftime.

The right-back pulled a spectacular save from United's Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero in the first half after firing from 20 yards.

The Red Devils made the breakthrough after the intervention of the VAR, who decided Omar Richards had tripped Juan Mata in the box, with the Spaniard converting the resulting spot-kick midway through the first half.

Romelu Lukaku then doubled the hosts’ lead in first-half stoppage time, the striker’s 13th goal in his last 14 appearances in the competition, to make it five straight wins for Solskjaer since he became United’s caretaker boss.

Reading FC have now gone 11 games without a win after this latest defeat and are currently 23rd on the English Championship table with 20 points after 26 round of matches.
