Ghana’s Maxwell Acosty impress to help NK Rijeka eliminate Aberdeen in Europa League playoff

Ghanaian forward Maxwell Boadu Acosty hugely impressed this evening to help his side, NK Rijeka defeat Aberdeen 2-0 in the Europa playoff to ensure they progress into the next round.

The hardworking attacker emerged as the standout player for his side and provide two assists that proved key for his club as they eliminated their opponent on a cold Thursday night.

The victors visited the Pittodrie Stadium with a 2-0 lead from the first leg encounter and proved too strong once again for their opponent who could not capitalize on their home advantage.

Loncar Stjepan and Antonio-Mirko Colak scored for Rijeka on the 10th and 32nd minute respectively with assists from Maxwell Boadu Acosty on both occasions.

Rijeka has now progressed into the next round of the qualifiers and is close to securing qualification for the group stages of the upcoming edition of the European club competition.
