Former Black Queens captain, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has urged young Ghanaian players to have a plan for their life.

Speaking at a workshop for Women’s Premier League players on Wednesday, June 26, she stressed the need for young footballers to think about what to do after football.

At the event co-organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Malta Guinness, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo used herself as an example to inspire the young women footballers.

“It’s all about planning. Before I end one activity, another has already started. I built my first house with the money I earned from my first World Cup in the USA. It’s about planning.

“Even though I couldn’t finish it, I got it to a good level before I later completed it. All this while, I was working with the national service.

“In as much as I was playing, I was thinking about what to do after football,” Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo.

The workshop was held on the theme, “Life Outside Football Capacity Workshop”.

It was organised to educate players on managing their finances for a secure future after their playing careers end.
