Hearts of Oak have filed an official protest against referee Ken Paddy following his poor performance in Super clash against league leaders Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The match official grabbed the headlines for his decision to award the Porcupine Warriors a penalty in the match week 24 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Fabio Gama went down in the Hearts' box after minimal contact from Hearts of Oak midfielder Abdul Aziz inside 13 minutes of the game.

Cameroonian import Franck Mbella Etouga stepped up to take the resulting spot kick as he sent goalkeeper Richmond Ayi the wrong way, taking his season tally to 16 goals.

The win strengthened Kotoko's lead at the top of the table to eight points with 12 games still to go, while Hearts of Oak drop to 6th on the standings with 36 points.
