Hearts skipper Fatawu Mohammed wants the club to sign top players

Accra Hearts of Oak skipper Fatawu Mohammed says the club should be signing top players in order to compete effectively when the Ghana Premier League resumes.

Hearts lost 2-1 to Ebusua Dwarfs in a friendly on Monday and after the game, Mohammed admonished the management to get in top players.

"Hearts of Oak is one of the biggest clubs in Ghana. The club is not meant for toddlers. We should sign players who're fit to play for the club and get rid of the lower division players. The youngsters become jittery when they wear the jersey and thus we should expect licking," Fatawu told Oyerepa FM.

"When I signed for Hearts of Oak, there were some experience players who guided us. But if you look at the current squad of the club, the experience players are very few. Apart from Malik Akowuah, Ben Mensah, Benjamin Agyare, Ernest Sowah and I, all the other players are very young. It would've been better if the experience players outnumber the youngsters," he added.

"Mark Noonan should sign experience players and stop concentrating on building the junior side (Auroras)," Fatau Mohammed ended.
