The Daily Mirror has compiled the Premier League table for 2016, taking into accountall the games playedover the course of the calendar year- and it makes for interesting reading.
There are often statistics thrown about midway through a season that detail a club's form over the course of the whole year, as opposed to a separate season.

According to the table, the most in-form team over 2016 has been Chelsea, who began 2016 under the guidance of interim manager Guus Hiddink after Jose Mourinho was sacked on December 17.
New manager Antonio Conte arrived in the summer after overseeing the Italian national side at Euro 2016, and has been a revelation since Hiddink steadied the ship. It all reflects kind of miserably on Jose Mourinho, who now manages Manchester United.
Speaking of United, the Red Devils place sixth in the 2016 table, perhapshighlighting where they have been at over the past few seasons -in and around theChampions League spots.
Tottenham take second place after a very strong 2016; Mauricio Pochettino's men mounted a title challenge last time outbut fell away towards the end, eventually finishing under Arsenal (again).
The Mirror'stable will make annoyingly familiar reading for those Arsenal fans though, whose side take fourth place. Despite a decent start to the current2016/17 season, the Gunners fell away from eventual champions Leicester City last term.
Sandwiched between the two north London Clubs lie Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in third, who can boast the tag of being the top scorers for the year - 11 more than nearest challengers Chelsea.
The Foxes would have finished eighth in the table, if their leagueresultsso far thisseason combined with their unexpected title charge last term. Claudio Ranieri's men have struggled to reach the dizzy heights of last season and have found wins much harder to come by this time around.
At the wrong end of the table, it's truly awful reading for Crystal Palace fans, who are bottom of the pile when it comes to the league's mainstay teams (those that haven't been relegated or promoted).
