An Algerian side dominated by their bench players humiliated Tanzania by beating them 3-0 at the Al Salam Stadium on Monday, July 1, 2019.
The two teams faced off for their final group match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament currently ongoing in Egypt. Algeria who had already qualified to the knockout stage opted to field some of her bench players to give them some playing time.
Despite fielding a less potent team, they still managed to wallop their Tanzanian opponent at the end of the day.
Napoli winger Adam Ounas scored twice with Islam Slimani also finding the back of the net to complete a 3-0 win over Tanzania as they finished top of Group C AFCON.
They have progressed into the round of 16 alongside the Teranga Lions of Senegal who finished second on the group standings with 6 points. Kenya came in 3rd with 3 points and has a slight chance of qualifying to the next round as one of 4 best third-placed teams.
