Highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana happy to join Cagliari

Highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has expressed delight after joining Cagliari from Hellas Verona in the ongoing transfer window.

Sulemana sealed a move to the Serie A returnees on Saturday after a stellar performance in the just-ended campaign.

He played a huge role to help Hellas Verona maintain their Serie A status after beating Spezia 3-1 in the play-off.

The 20-year-old signs a deal that will run until June 2027 with an option for another year after turning down an approach from Bologna.

After completing his move, the Ghanaian youngster took to social media to express his joy whiles he looks forward to the next chapter of his career.

“So happy to join this amazing club. Can’t wait to begin this new chapter of my career. Forza Cagliari” he posted on Instagram.

The talented youngster, after joining the Atalanta youth team, moved on to Verona U19 in July 2021 and was promoted to the first team a year later.

Sulemana began to show off his qualities in the Primavera 1 2021-22 championship, where he totaled 17 appearances, with 1 goal and 3 assists.

He made his debut in Serie A on October 9 last year against Salernitana, collecting 17 games in the season that has just ended, also playing a leading role in the relegation play-off victory against Spezia.

Sulemana made a total of 17 appearances in his debut season in the Italian top-flight for Verona.
