German legend, Lothar Matthaus has stressed that he believes the good days of KP Boateng are over.

The ex-Ghana forward secured a sensational return to the German Bundesliga this summer to sign for boyhood club Hertha Berlin.

Due to injury problems, he has spent most of the time on the sidelines and has been spotted severally playing a deputy manager role.

Having monitored the situation of KP Boateng at Hertha Berlin, Lothar Matthaus says he is struggling to know why the attacker was signed.

“Honestly I have not yet understood what his role in the club is. I don't understand if he has to be a guide on the pitch or in the locker room,” the German great told Sky Sport Deutschland.

Lothar Matthaus added, “Bobic has been very attached to him since the days of Eintracht Frankfurt but let's talk about when Boateng was still a great player, albeit a difficult character. Here, those times, the good times, are over.”
