The Super Eagles leave Nigeria on Friday

The home-based Super Eagles will depart Nigeria on Friday ahead of Sunday’s return leg match in the final round of qualifiers for the 2016 Championship of African Nations.

Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the team would depart Port Harcourt for Ouagadougou on Friday evening aboard a chartered Arik flight.

“We are leaving by 6.30pm on Friday. The flight is two hours and we will be back immediately after the game on Sunday,’’ he said.

NAN reports that the Eagles take a 2-0 lead into the game, after last Saturday’s first leg clash in Port Harcourt.

Ibitoye however assured that the team was in high spirits with no injury worries.

“There are no injury worries. The only player out of the team is Solomon Kwambe, who has been replaced by Etim Matthew of Rangers International FC, following his injury in the first leg encounter,’’ he said.

The team spokesman said Sunday Oliseh, the Super Eagles Head Coach, would lead the team’s coaching crew to the game.

He however said all the 24 players in camp might travel to Ouagadougou since the team would travel through a chartered flight.

Ibitoye said Oliseh could still go to Burkina Faso with only the 18 players that would be dressed for the match, disclosing that the dropped players would return to their clubs.

On the team’s future after Sunday’s match in Ouagadougou, he said all depended on the game’s result.

“We will know of other plans when we qualify because we cannot be talking about CHAN preparation without qualifying first.

“We have December to prepare because the tournament is holding mid-January,’’ he added.
