I am ready to contest for GFA Presidency - Fred Pappoe

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice-President, Fred Pappoe has revealed his readiness to contest for the GFA Presidential seat regardless of the Normalization Committee plan for an extension.

It has emerged that FA's Normalization Committee will soon tender in a petition to the World Football governing body, (FIFA) for an extension of their tenure after their 6-months elapses. However, an attempt by the committee has no effect on Fred Pappoe's decision to contest for the vacant GFA Presidential seat following the resignation of Kwasi Nyantakyi due to Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé.

In 2018, the Accra Great Olympics declared his intentions of contesting for it. Speaking to Otec FM, he reaffirmed his decision to contest despite the committee planning to request for an extension. "To be honest I don't think the election can happen by the end of March but whatever it is, am ever ready and prepared to contest the presidency of Ghana Football Association".

"Whether Ghana's FA Normalization Committee seeks for extension of their mandate, I'm all ready to vy for the seat", the former Black Stars management committee chairman told Otec FM.

The Normalization Committee was mandated with 6-months, ensuring electing new executive members for the association is done and also bring the game to normalcy. They[Normalization Committee] has up to March 30, to finalize their core mandate.

The committee on Tuesday, inaugurated ad-hoc Committee to assist their activities.
