I am yet to take over Karela United as new owner - Lawmaker Haruna Iddrisu

Minority leader of Parliament, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has confirmed that he is yet to take over Ghana Premier League side, Karela United as the new owner and bankroller.

Reports emerged last week suggesting that the Member of Parliament for Tamale South has acquired the club in a deal worth $600,000.

However, the lawmaker speaking in an interview confirmed that he is yet to take over the new bankroller.

“I am yet to take over as the new Karela United owner but currently we are in to support the team, we will do our best to put the club forward.

"I heard the news that I am taking the team away from Nzema land, please it is never true.

"The team will remain there because I want to help my sister (Abena Brigidi) to run the club as I said earlier,” he added.

Karela United are currently without a head coach following the resignation of Bismark Kobi Mensah.

The Ayinase-based side now sit on the 15th position on the league log with 11 points,
