I did not use Daniel Amartey's video as motivation- Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has revealed that he did not use Daniel Amartey's controversial video as motivation to beat Leicester in the Premier League.

During the previous weekend, Amartey's Leicester recorded a 1-0 win over the Blues, clinching the FA Cup trophy in the process.

After the game, the Ghanaian defender threw Chelsea's pennant to the floor, a gesture that sparked outrage in social media.

The two teams met again a few days later in the Premier League and this time, Chelsea took home a 2-1 victory.

“I did not talk about it; I know there was that incident, but I did not talk about it before the match or in any meetings,” said Tuchel after the game.

“The players were well aware. But I’m not into these things too much, because it can sometimes give you too much energy and feelings of revenge. I don’t like this at all.

“We do what we do and that’s to play football on the highest level possible.

“We need energy and hunger and that makes us a difficult team to play. And there’s nothing more I can say about it.”

Amartey was recently named in Charles Akonnor's squad for the friendlies.
