The Black Stars defender has spent his club career in England, featuring for Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Lamptey started his career with Chelsea youth team but departed the club to join Brighton in 2020 in search of playing time.

He has since established himself as a key figure to the Brighton squad.

“The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and I feel I am blessed to play there” he told Citi FM.

The defender is currently in the treatment room after suffering a knee injury that ruled him out of the 2022/23 season in March.

The former Chelsea right-back missed Ghana's doubleheader against Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in March.

He was replaced by German-born Kingsley Schindler by Black Stars coach Chris Hughton in March for the AFCON qualifiers.
