I want to be a top player in my position like Thomas Partey - Fatawu Ganiwu

Black Starlets midfielder Fatawu Ganiwu has openly expressed his admiration for seasoned players such as Thomas Partey, the Vice-Captain of the Black Stars.

Ganiyu regards Partey as a role model, aiming to emulate his success on the field.

Additionally, Ganiyu draws inspiration from defensive midfield stalwarts like Rodri and Sergio Busquets of Spain.

Reflecting on his experiences with the Ghana U-17 team during the U-16 UEFA development tournament held in Serbia, where they faced formidable opponents including Spain, Serbia, and Switzerland, Ganiyu underscored his commitment to reaching the highest echelons of football and excelling in his position.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Fatawu Ganiwu, who went on trials at Lens in France, touched on details of his career so far and where he wants to be in the future.

“It was a great tournament in Serbia, we had a very good selected squad of players.

“We learnt alot of things there in the UEFA U-16 development tournament.

“I have got alot of things i have to work on, i need to do alot of running and pressing to improve my game.

“I want to see myself at the top level, to become the best player in my position and so i look up to Black Stars Vice-Captain, Thomas Partey and Spanish duo Rodri and Sergio Busquets and sometimes Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City.”
