Ian Holloway Rejoins Queens Park Rangers as Manager Following Sacking of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

It has been announced that Ian Holloway has been instated as manager of Queens Park Rangers following the dismissal of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who left his position at Loftus Road last weekend.

Holloway, who was last seen in the managerial hot seat at Millwall last year, returns to the club in which he spent five years in charge between 2001 and 2006, as well as nearlysix years as a player between 1991 and 1996.

Upon his appointment, the 53-year-old said "Does anyone know this club better than me? Probably not. Has it changed much? Maybe.

"But I know what it means to everyone out there. People would die for this club - and I want our players to show that in their performance, and our fans to show them that they care about the players as much as I will do as their manager.

"My job is to try and help this squad improve and create an environment that the players can succeed in, especially at Loftus Road, where the fans love to see players express themselves."

The eccentric Englishmanhas enjoyed reasonable success as a manager over the years, famously guiding Blackpool to the Premier League for the first time in 2010.

The Tangerines captured the hearts of the nation with some gutsy displays during their opening season in the top flight but Holloway was unable to save the club from relegation, which was confirmed on the final day of the season following a 4-2 defeat to Manchester United.

After leaving the north-west, Holloway joined Crystal Palace where he guided the Eagles back to the Premier League only to lose his job in October 2013 following the club's terrible start to the campaign.

Holloway rejoins Queens Park Rangers with the hope that he can add a third promotion to his CV and guide the London-based club back to the Premier League following their relegation in 2015.
