Ibrahim Danlad is ready and prepared for Black Stars call up - Kotoko boss Prosper Narteh Ogum

Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum believes Ibrahim Danlad is ready and prepared for a Black Stars call up for the 2022 World Cup Play-off against Nigeria.

Following the sale of Razak Abalora, the young and enterprising goalkeeper is now the first choice shot-stopper of the Porcupine Warriors.

Danlad has been a phenomenon for the club after taking over the first-choice goalkeeper.

However, with the Black Stars set to play Nigeria later this month in the playoff games for a place in the World Cup scheduled to be hosted in Qatar, Ogum believes the U-20 CAF Youth Championship winner is ready for the call-up.

“He [Ibrahim Danlad] is a talented goalkeeper and he has some good leadership qualities.” Nartey Ogum said after Kotoko's stalemate with Bechem United on Tuesday.

“He is good with his feet and hands and I think he is ready for the national call-up.”

The Asante Kotoko goalkeeper was previously included in the Black Stars squad for the AFCON qualifiers by then-head coach C.K Akonnor.

However, he did not play any of the games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.

Ghana will play Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25, before the second leg will take place in Abuja, Nigeria on the 29th.
