Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundoganhas claimed Manchester City are a bigger club than Bayern Munich.

Gundogan signed for City during the summer and has been in top form recently, scoring twice in the win over West Brom while also bagging a brace in City's historic Champions League win over Barcelona last week.

Speaking to theDaily Star, Gundogan claimed the move to City was abetter proposition than any potential move to a club in Germany.

I do believe the summer was the right time to risk something new and I can already say that Manchester City is the right club for me," Gundogan revealed.

You can see that you've arrived at a super club which has set out for great things and wants to develop great things in the upcoming years.

That can't even be compared to Bayern Munich, it's a different story."

Gundogan also claimed the expectations from manager Pep Guardiola are different to anything he had previously experienced.

Accordingly, the pressure and responsibility on individual players is profound. It's something different to Dortmund.

He sets the bar incredibly high. You get the feeling that 99 per cent is not enough for him.

He wants to have 100 percent and be completely sure that his thoughts are perfectly adjusted to the match and the opponent.

And he has thoughts you don't get as a player immediately but which work out perfectly.

Gundogan made 105 Bundesliga appearances for previous club Borussia Dortmund, scoring 10 goals before making the move to City during the summer for a reported fee of £20m.
