I’m happy things have changed since Manhyia visit – Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey

Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has expressed excitement for the teams change in fortunes since their visit to the club’s life patron, Otumfuo, at his Manhyia Palace earlier in April.

The Porcupine Warriors had been on a seven-game winless run, losing six and drawing one, prior to their meeting with the Asantehene.

However, since the meeting, they have not lost any of their last three games, beating Ghana Premier League leaders Samartex before drawing with Medeama SC in Tarkwa and beating Legon Cities 2-0 in their recent game.

Lamptey is battling injury and has not played for Asante Kotoko for a long while now.

“After we visited Opemsuo, by God’s grace, things have changed for us. I have not played since we visited Opemsuo, but I am very happy with the performances of the boys since we visited Opemsuo,” Lamptey said in an interview played on Asempa FM, as monitored by footballghana.com.

“Kotoko is a team when you are playing here you don’t play with it. You have to be very serious.”

The record Ghana champions will face Berekum Chelsea away at the Golden City Park this coming weekend in match week 30 of the Ghana Premier League.
