Is Everton Star Ross Barkley's New Afro the Reason for His Surge In Form?

Published on: 03 March 2017

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is suddenly playing really well again.

Earlier this season, Ronald Koeman claimed that the player may never reach his full potential. He must be ready to eat his words now, with Barkley performing well above standard as of late.

The 23-year-old has been involved in four goals in his last six matches for the Toffees, scoring one and assisting three. He has been showing steady improvement this year, and it seems like his new hairstyle has a lot to do with it.

Usually one who sportsa short cut, Barkley has allowed his hair to grow out, and the results have been grand.

Barkley's father happens to be Nigerian, which explains why his new top is so dense, but that fact hasn't lessened the attention it's getting onsocial media.

Further evidence to suggest that the newfound form is down to the hair lies in the fact that his former teammate Steven Pienaar saw his form dip after he cut his hair some years back whilst at Goodison Park.
