Isaac Cofie secures Europa League qualification with Sivasspor after win against Fenerbahçe

Ghanaian international Isaac Cofie displayed fine form on Sunday evening to help his Sivasspor side defeat Fenerbahçe to secure a place in next season’s Europe League competition.

The midfielder was named in his team’s starting eleven yesterday in what was a Matchday 31 fixture of the ongoing 2019/2020 football season.

Playing as the away team, Sivasspor took the lead after just 9 minutes of play when Ivorian striker Arouna Kone scored from the penalty spot.

Later in the first half, Denniz Turuc registered his name on the scoresheet to restore parity for Fenerbahçe

Sivasspor will chase the game in a bid to grab all 3 points at the end of the 90 minutes and saw their efforts paying off on the 44th minute courtesy a strike from Emre Kilinc.

On the matchday, Isaac Cofie proved to be the livewire of his team with his combative display in the middle of the park driving his team in their attacking play.

The victory has seen him and his Sivasspor side booking qualification to play in the next edition of the Uefa Europa League.
