Dutch-born Ghanaian defender, Leeroy Owusu, has expressed his excitement to be playing outside the Netherlands for the first time after signing a three-year deal with Danish Superliga outfit, Odense Boldklub.

Owusu's move comes following the conclusion of his three-year tenure with Dutch second-tier club Willem II Tilburg.

"This is my first time abroad, and it is incredibly exciting. New team, new stadium, and of course, I am looking forward to meeting the club's fans. The support the club has at the stadium looks really good, and I can't wait to play there," says Leeroy Owusu.

Having spent his entire career in Dutch football, Owusu's journey began when he joined the AFC Ajax academy at the tender age of seven, where he remained until the U21 level.

Throughout his career, he has represented several Dutch clubs, including De Graafschap, Excelsior, and Willem II, where his contract recently expired.

Owusu brings with him a wealth of experience, having played over 300 matches in the top Dutch leagues, with 99 appearances in the prestigious Eredivisie. However, he now faces a fresh set of challenges as he ventures into Danish football with Odense Boldklub.
