Hearts of Oak head coach, Martin Koopman, says it was a tough game against Karela United.

The Phobians were hosted at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday in the matchday 9 games.

Koopman’s side fell behind to an early goal in the 6th minute as Emmanuel Owusu Boakye headed home the opener for the Pride and Passion.

Hamza Issah restored parity for Hearts on 40 minutes after guiding Salifu Ibrahim’s cross into the post.

Both teams had to settle for a point each as the score line remained the same at full time.

Speaking after the game, Koopman admitted that they did not start well and was also a difficult game for them.

"It was a tough game for both sides. We did not start so good because we were 1-0 down in the first half but we came back in the second half and we got a little bit of a fighting spirit we needed.

"We can play nice football but you also need a fighting spirit and in the second half was okay and it ended 1-1.

"We had a penalty but I don’t talk about referees so not losing, we must win our next game," he added.

Hearts of Oak now sit on the 13th on the league log with 10 points and will take on Heart of Lions in an outstanding game on Wednesday at the Hohoe Stadium before hosting Legon Cities on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
