It’s never true I influenced the sacking of CK Akunnor from Kotoko – George Amoako

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako has noted that he did not influence the sacking C.K Akunnor from the club.

His clarification comes on the back of reports in the media indicating that it will be difficult for the pair to work together after at the male senior national team level.

CK Akonnor was sacked by Kotoko last year but has subsequently been appointed as the head coach for the Black Stars team. At the time of his axing, George Amoako who has now been named as the chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee was still at post as the CEO of the Porcupine Warriors.

Now set to work together again, many are arguing that the pair will not have a smooth sail due to the past history.

In an interview with Angel FM, George Amoako has shared that he never influenced the sacking of C.K Akunnor and hence there will be no problem working together.

He opines that the focus will be on how they can work together to help the national team win trophies.

"It is never true I influenced the decision in sacking CK Akunnor at Asante Kotoko”, he said.

George Amoako added, "I have been reading on various social media platforms concerning this. Let me be honest with you, we are on a different level and different mission, the most important thing is the task ahead of us as new Black stars management committee to achieve the aim in winning trophies with the Black stars".
