Javier Pastore's Future in Paris Uncertain With Chelsea Circling Around the Argentine

Published on: 28 October 2016

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore is attracting interest from Chelsea, an Italian club and a Chinese club, a source close to the Argentine has toldESPN.

Pastore has claimed he is 'only thinking about PSG' right now, but the source close to the player admitted the 27-year-old's future is far from certain at the Parc des Princes with the French champions set to consider his future in the coming weeks.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is said to be an admirer of Pastore after his time with Palermo in Serie A and the Italian has already made his interest clear should the player decide to leave the French capital.

Both the Italian and Chinese clubs are unnamed, but the offer from Asia is said to be of considerable value given the current economic status of Chinese-based clubs.

Pastore has recently returned to training after a lengthy absence because of a recurring calf injury, but the source admits the South American is expected to be fit enough 'to travel' to Basel for PSG's Champions League clash.

The Argentine has been plagued by injuries over the past few years and the Qatari-funded side are believed to be running out of patience. New coach Unai Emery had planned to make Pastore an integral part of his plans but has been surprised by the fragility of the player.

Pastore extended his contract in the summer of 2015 and has three years remaining on his current, but with Giovani Lo Celse set to arrive from Rosario Central next year the Parisian club may be tempted to cash in.
