Former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is not ruling out a return to Hamburger SV in the German second tier.

"I'm not thinking about ending my career for a long time, I want to attack again in the summer and have only good memories of Hamburger SV. This club with these fans and this beautiful city belongs in the premier league. I hope that HSV will rise," he told Sky Channel.

In the summer of 2007, Jerome Boateng moved from Hertha BSC to Hamburger SV, where he played for three years until joining FC Bayern Munich after playing for Manchester City for one season.

The 34-year-old defender transferred from the German record winners to Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1 in September 2021. The 2014 World Cup team member, who has represented his country 76 times, no longer plays for the French Ligue side.

Jerome Boateng has one season left on his contract. He has also been linked to a move to the MLS.
