Former Black Stars defender has expressed his admiration for Stephen Appiah, labeling him as one of the finest midfielders Ghana has ever produced.

Appiah, 39, had an outstanding career and earned the admiration of many Ghanaians. The former Juventus man has been tagged by fans as one of the best captains the senior national team ever had.

Stephen played in multiple tournaments for the Black Stars including the 2006 World cup where he led the team as captain.

Joe Addo likened him to the legendary Abedi Pele during his interview with Joy FM.

“I think Stephen Appiah is one of the finest players that we’ve ever produced. Somebody, who could do anything, He can play as defensive player (holding midfield), he can play as an offensive midfielder, he can pass and he can score."

“You don’t get many players like that, few players have some of his attributes and the only player who was close to him was Abedi. Abedi was a little bit ahead of Stephen. But Stephen is one of the finest Ghana has ever produced.”
